October PMI Erie Chapter Meeting - In Person

Ways of Working

October Chapter Meeting In-Person Details:

4:30 - 5:00: Happy Hour and Networking at Calamaris

5:00 - 6:00: Large Language Models (LLMs) and Project Management discussion with Kyle Chalupczynski.

Topic Overview:

The discussion will explore the transformative potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) in automating repetitive tasks within project management. With his extensive background in business analysis and agile methodologies, Kyle aims to demonstrate how leveraging LLMs for tasks such as data gathering, reporting, and risk assessment can substantially free up project managers. This newfound freedom allows Project Managers to focus on high-value activities, such as removing roadblocks for team members, enhancing communication, and long-term strategic planning. The session will offer insights into how the incorporation of LLM technology can not only boost operational efficiency but also elevate the role of project managers from mere task overseers to strategic visionaries.

Speaker Bio:

Kyle Chalupczynski is an accomplished academic and industry professional whose career is rooted in the seamless intersection of technology and business. A proud alumnus of Penn State Behrend, Kyle graduated in 2010 with a degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) and a minor in Supply Chain Management. Not content with stopping there, he pursued and obtained his MBA from the same institution.

Upon completing his formal education, Kyle entered the corporate world, taking up a multifaceted role as a Programmer Analyst at GE Transportation. His responsibilities spanned across business analysis, software development, quality analysis, and project management. His knack for bridging the gap between technology and business processes was further honed when he joined ERIE Insurance as a Business Analyst. At ERIE, he was instrumental in driving several high-profile projects to success.

After nearly a decade of building and refining systems in industry settings, Kyle returned to his alma mater. He currently teaches a range of MIS courses at Penn State Behrend. His professional passions lie deeply in the realm of business analysis, with a particular affinity for agile methodologies. Recently, he has ventured into the burgeoning field of Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI. Kyle sees the transformative potential of these technologies, especially in reshaping traditional educational paradigms.

On a personal front, Kyle cherishes spending quality time with his family—his wife Cassie and their two-year-old son, Noah. His enthusiasm for AI isn't just academic; he's so captivated by its potential that he's already incorporating it into his son's life. Whether it's in the classroom, the boardroom, or the family room, Kyle’s always looking toward the future.
