Please join your fellow PMI Erie Chapter members for a presentation from Gretchen Gallagher Durney from the Sisters of St. Joseph Neighborhood Network. Gretchen will discuss the history and goals of their gardens, urban farm, and market. You will learn what has made these oases of education, beauty and fresh produce thrive for more than a decade in the heart of the city.
Speaker Bio:
Gretchen is the Neighborhood Manager at the Little Italy office of SSJNN. All staff wear many hats there but her main responsibilities include managing their gardens, teen garden worker program, Little Italy Farmers Market, as well as marketing and development work. She grew up in Harborcreek, moved away for a while, but is proud to call Erie home again. Her formal background is in journalism and education, but she also has experience in and a passion for agriculture and local food. She is involved with the community, is a member of St. Patrick Church, an Associate of the SSJ of NWPA, and has been with SSJNN nine years.
